This document will inform you about the content and procedure of the workshop for the SWISSUbase data deposit process and about the intended use of your personal data. Please read the following information carefully and ask us if you would like to know more or if anything is unclear to you. We recommend keeping the participant information sheet about the workshop.
Your insights will help improve the SWISSUbase platform and data deposit process and contribute to the objective of sharing and preserving valuable research data in Switzerland.
The main objective of the workshop is to gather input and feedback from users of the SWISSUbase platform, specifically about the data deposit workflow. The results will be consolidated and used to guide the future improvement of the data deposit process.
The workshop will be conducted on Teams or in person. It will be moderated by a member of the FORS Data Archive Services and accompanied by a member of the SWISSUbase central team. The moderators will guide the discussion to learn your opinions, experiences, and ideas for improvement of the data deposit process. The workshop will be recorded and subsequently transcribed for analysis and reporting. The goal is to gather insights and understand the perspectives of SWISSUbase users.
To participate, you must be willing to take part in a workshop conducted either online (Teams) or in person and answer the questions that the moderators ask concerning specific features and the data deposit process in SWISSUbase.
Keeping confidentiality is essential for open discussion within the group. If you participate in the workshop, you commit to keeping all information obtained during the interviews, including statements, opinions etc. of other participants confidential. This information may not be shared with third parties or discussed outside the group, either during or after the workshop.
The workshop will take place online with Teams or in person and will last approximately 1 hour.
There are neither direct benefits, nor disadvantages when you participate. However, your participation will make a significant contribution to improving the SWISSUbase deposit process and thereby improve social science research in Switzerland.
Participating is voluntary. You can stop at any time without giving reasons and without incurring any disadvantages.
If you want to leave the session, please inform the moderators (contact information listed below) and quietly leave the Teams call.
The SWISSUbase platform is funded by the SWISSUbase Consortium consisting of DaSCH, FORS, the University of Neuchâtel and the University of Zurich. Thus, the workshops are indirectly funded by the SWISSUbase Consortium.
The following data will be collected from you:
Your data will be processed according to the applicable data protection laws.
The questions we ask do not concern sensitive personal data under data protection law. However, if special personal data is shared during the workshop, we will take appropriate measures with regard to the handling of these data.
Your responses and feedback to the questions will be used to improve the data deposit process in the SWISSUbase platform.
The data will not be published in any public publications, presentations or websites. The results will only be shared internally within the SWISSUbase Consortium and with its members for discussion and decision about platform improvement.
You can request information about the personal data collected from you at any time without giving any reasons. You can also request that your data be corrected, handed over to you, blocked for processing, or deleted until completion of the consolidation of workshop results.
You can revoke your consent and demand that your data is not used for the data deposit improvement planning. Revoking your consent will not result in any disadvantages for you
